ACROSS THE UNIVERSE by Beth Revis

A love out of time. A spaceship built of secrets and murder.
Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.
Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone-one of the few thousand inhabitants of the spaceship-tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn't do something soon, her parents will be next.
Now Amy must race to unlock Godspeed's hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there's only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming.

WOW. This book is so incredibly amazing, awesome, imaginative, dystopian, romantic, OUT OF THIS WORLD. I loved it!!! The story was completely different from anything I have ever read before. I am usually not a big fan of sci-fi novels but I decided to pick this up after reading about it from other bloggers saying how much they liked it. I am so glad I did. The story was fast paced, with unexpected turns popping up at the most surprising moments. The whole lifestyle aboard the Godspeed is so different from the world we live in now, it was extraordinary reading about it. Amy and Elder's characters are well-developed and realistic, both from different backgrounds but able to relate very well together. Sometimes terrifying and heart-pounding, Across the Universe is simply brilliant. Just. Read. It. I have nothing else to say about it.

5/5 stars
